It’s been a while since I’ve had the chance to post anything, but we’re all doing well. My parents went to Utah to help out my brother and his wife, Jenny, with their girls. Jenny had her gall bladder out, and Aspen is only four months old. Everyone is doing well, and my parents are back home. They also went to Idaho to see my Grandma, which was a wonderful surprise for her! Clayton and I have been very busy, even though it’s supposed to be a break for him. In fact, tomorrow we’re going snowshoeing. I imagine I’ll be very sore on Sunday. Tomorrow I am also mailing out holiday letters. Yes…I know that I’m very, very late, but I figure late is better than never!
Ainsley said two new words yesterday: “Minki,” (the name of her snuggly), and “Kitty.” Today she put her forehead to the ground, while her feet were still on the ground, and looked at me between her legs. She thought it was pretty funny, and began waving to me with both of her hands. I wish I’d had the camera, it was so cute! Other than that, she tears around the living, playing with one thing and another, frequently getting in to trouble.
We’ve taken away Ainsley’s pacifier, which has been very hard on all of us. Ainsley was getting way too attached to it, wanting it with her all the time. At night, she’d throw it out of her crib and say, “Uh oh!” We knew it was time for the paci to go. We took it away Sunday night. On Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, Ainsley skipped her morning nap. On Thursday she took a morning nap and no afternoon nap. Today she skipped her morning nap, and slept for less than an hour this afternoon. At night, she does pretty well. The crying has gone from an hour and a half the first night, down to twenty minutes last night. I just hope naptime comes around!
My new years resolutions are: To read my bible every day, to walk my dogs at least five times a week, and to cook a variety of new dishes. I generally do well with walking my dogs and getting exercise, but it’s been so cold that I haven’t wanted Ainsley out in the cold. It’s very hard to push a stroller through snow! However, when Clayton is home in the evenings, I don’t really have an excuse.
I hope you all have a wonderful year! May God bless you greatly!
